The Role of the Business Analyst Working on Adaptive/Agile Projects

The use of agile as an approach to managing projects has been increasing dramatically over the last several years. Research demonstrates the value that agile can have in increasing delivery of business value, improving team productivity, and decreasing product defects. By inclusion of business analysis practices in these projects, clarity and completeness of all requirement types can be realized.

PMI® recognizes that knowledge of agile principles, practices and tools to support the development of applications has been increasing dramatically over the last several years. Research also demonstrates the value that agile methods can have in increasing delivery of business value and agility, improving team productivity and decreasing product defects.

Course Purpose:

The purpose of this course is to identify how and where the Business Analyst role can be integrated into an agile/adaptive project effort.   This course will present the principles, practices, terminology, tools and techniques associated with both agile and business analysis methods and how the combination of these can increase the success factor of these projects.

Since many are familiar with a single agile method this course will present the principles, practices, terminology, tools and techniques associated with major agile methods that can be successfully utilized on project efforts using an adaptive project approach.  

The target audience for this course is the business analyst who wants to learn more about the business analyst role on agile projects.
